The short version. Your galleries and images never reach me. They stay on your devices and sync through your own iCloud account. Show Off has no user accounts, no login and no servers of mine for your work to sit on. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Who is responsible

Show Off is published by Water Palaver Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17267842), at Station House Station Approach, East Horsley, Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom, KT24 6QX. For anything on this page, write to the support form. Water Palaver Ltd is the data controller for the limited personal data described below.

Your galleries and images

Everything you put into Show Off is stored in two places: on the device you put it on, and in the private area of your own iCloud account, which is what moves it between your Mac and your iPads. That private area belongs to you. I have no access to it, no key for it and no copy of it. Deleting a gallery on your device deletes it from your iCloud too.

Because the work travels through Apple’s iCloud service, Apple’s own terms and privacy policy apply to that leg of the journey. Show Off does not send your images anywhere else, and the app does not need an internet connection to show them.

Buying the app

Show Off costs £34.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, bought through the App Store. Apple takes the payment and holds the card details. I never see your card number, billing address or full name from a purchase. Apple reports sales to me as totals by country, not as named customers.

Crash reports and diagnostics

The app contains no analytics code, no advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking of any kind. If you have chosen in your device settings to share crash data with developers, Apple may pass me anonymised crash reports. Those contain technical traces of a failure, not your images or personal details. You can turn that off in iOS, iPadOS or macOS settings at any time.

When you write to me

If you use the form on the support page or email me, I receive what you typed: your name, your email address and your message, along with any device details you include. That is used for one thing, which is answering you, and it is kept in the support mailbox so the history of a problem survives. Support correspondence is deleted after two years unless it is part of an unresolved issue.

The form is handled by a form-processing service which passes the message to that mailbox. It receives the same fields and nothing more.

This website

The site is a set of static files. There are no cookies, no local storage, no analytics, no tag managers and no embedded social media. The host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

One thing worth naming: the typeface is served by Google Fonts, so loading a page makes a request to Google’s servers, which sees your IP address. Nothing else on the site calls out to anyone.

Legal basis

Under the UK GDPR, the limited processing above rests on:

  • Legitimate interests, for answering support messages and keeping the site secure.
  • Performance of a contract, for supplying the sync subscription you bought.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to it being processed, or ask for it to be sent somewhere else. Write to the support form and you will get an answer within one month. In practice there is very little to find: support email, and nothing else.

If you are unhappy with how a request was handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Show Off is a working tool for photographers and studios. It is not aimed at children and collects nothing from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that materially affects how your work is handled will be flagged in the app’s release notes as well.
